Mary, Office Manager

Everett Veterinary Hospital and Boarding House is fortunate to have the energy, effervescence and efficiency that is Mary. After nearly a year of dedicated volunteer work at our hospital, Mary was hired in 2000 as a full-time receptionist and is now our very capable office manager. Her responsibilities include managing our large client database and all aspects of the business office with respect to patients and clients, including bookkeeping. She balances our busy daily appointment schedules and surgery calendars, assists with charting and sends monthly patient reminders for health care updates.

Mary's favorite job at the hospital is "greeter", as she knows most of our clients and patients by name, always welcoming both with sincere enthusiasm. She finds time throughout the day to escape her desk to get her "animal fix", exchanging cuddles and kisses with many of our patients.

Please stop by and get to know Mary. She'll be thrilled to meet you and your special pet.

Sherrie, Hospital Manager

After becoming a Veterinary Assistant in California, Sherrie made the move to Oregon just in time for the Grand Opening of Everett Veterinary Hospital in 1992. She became our first full time employee and veterinary assistant.

Returning to us, after a brief hiatus, her role has changed. Sherrie is now our Hospital Manager. Her responsibilities are so many that her job description says, "do everything". Her short list includes personnel management and scheduling, inventory control and purchasing, DEA compliance, equipment purchase and maintenance and nutritional counseling. She has made herself invaluable, assisting the doctor and the rest of the team in their daily tasks and special projects. She also retains her radiology certification to help with X-rays when needed.

Sherrie's veterinary knowledge, commitment to excellence and her perfectionist nature make her a true asset to Everett Veterinary Hospital and Boarding House.

Lori, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Her responsibilities include patient evaluation, blood work, anesthesia and surgical monitoring; including temperature, pulse oximetry, recovery and treatments. She also manages our daily DEA log entries.

Lori came to Everett Veterinary Hospital with formal training and a wealth of experience. She has worked with several veterinarians including Dr. Barclay Slocum, a renowned veterinary orthopedic surgeon and we are fortunate to have her expertise in orthopedic radiology, anesthesia and surgery.

Vivian, Licensed Veterinary Technician

A life-long love of animals led Vivian to Everett Veterinary Hospital in 1993 as our receptionist. After a short time in Carson City, Nevada, we are lucky that Vivian returned to us. With the support of her friends and family, she set out to achieve her goal of becoming a veterinary technician. After years of hard work, she is now a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Oregon.

Vivian has a special interest in small animal dentistry and believes that the oral care of our pets is an essential foundation for a long and healthy life. She takes great pride in her work. Whether she is using her nursing skills in the laboratory, preparation area, surgery, recovery, or pharmacy, your pets are in very competent hands. Vivian also oversees our OSHA safety compliancy programs.

Vivian enjoys painting pet portraits and you can see some of her work displayed proudly in our hospital.

She also manages our U-wash facility. When available, Denise helps out in the hospital by assisting Dr. Everett, the receptionists and our technicians.

Heather, Hospital Assistant

Heather is our "go to gal". One moment she is a receptionist and the next she is assisting Dr. Everett and the veterinary technicians. Heather does much of the initial check-in procedures for both the medical and surgical patients. She also performs lab work, develops x-rays, wraps and sterilizes surgical packs, monitors patients and assists in after hour emergencies. She puts the "multi" in multi-tasking.

Heather has received her nutritional counseling certification and is available for nutritional consultations. She will soon be working on her radiology certification. Our hospital family, clients and patients all agree that she is truly an asset.

Tawnia

Tawnia's childhood dream was to be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. In 2006, with the graduating class from Oregon State University, Tawnia will have accomplished her goal and she will become Dr. Shaw, our new associate at Everett Veterinary Hospital and Boarding House.

Working part-time while going to school, Tawnia started with us as a kennel assistant in 1997. After graduation from Oregon Institute of Technology, Tawnia continued to pursue her dream and became a valuable asset in all departments of our hospital including wildlife rehabilitation. When she left Klamath to attend the Veterinary Program at Oregon State University, we were fortunate that she returned over summer breaks to continue working with us. Next year, Tawnia will return home and bring new medical concepts, techniques and ultrasound experience to our ever-growing list of outstanding veterinary care services.
